Welcome to Dressing Jane

This is a free quarterly e-magazine containing articles and news about fashion in the age of Jane Austen.  The next edition will be published Summer 2008.

As a non-profit venture, Dressing Jane is unable to pay writers and consequently readers are welcome to submit articles, pictures etc. for possible inclusion.  All articles, however, must be carefully researched and will be thoroughly checked for accuracy.  Organisations are also invited to advertise their events here free of charge, though I shall carefully check each event for its relativity and reliability.

While the e-magazine will focus on historical costuming dating from 1775 to 1817, articles and events of a similar nature, but related to other eras may also be included.  Each edition will contain a short article giving an overview of an item or aspect of fashion between 1775 and 1817 and step-by-step instructions on making that item.

I hope the information will be both useful and instructive.
